I was hired to determine the content strategy for a new sgs.com (launched November 2011) and define functional requirements for the new site from a B2B content perspective.
Over the course of six months, I worked with key business stakeholders in ten different countries to create an inventory of existing content (online and offline), assess that content against our strategy, and identify content for deletion, migration (as is) or updating.
I worked with UX and design team to implement content requirements in the new design and contributed to an editorial style guide indicating best practices, tone, voice, tenor etc. for content development.
At the end of the contract, I trained a team of ten international copywriters on the content strategy, content model, processes, best practices, and guidelines to move forward.
Here are some screenshots of the resulting site. They implemented approximately 70% of our original design.
