“The middle third of Dry Creek Valley is Zinfandel heaven.”
- Bruce Cass, The Oxford Companion to the Wines of North America
Pezzi King Vineyards is nestled right in the heart of this Zinfandel Xanadu, on the western hills in the central portion of the Valley. Located 15 minutes from Healdsburg Square on West Dry Creek Road, Pezzi King hosts winery and vineyard tours by appointment only. Zinfandel is the flagship varietal with Cabernet Sauvignon and Sauvignon Blanc also grown on the 137 acre hillside ranch. Jim Rowe, Sr., purchased the property in 1993 and immediately employed sustainable farming practices. Pezzi King has since produced award winning wines for 16 years and is one of the leading producers of Zinfandel in our acclaimed Dry Creek Valley appellation. Contact Pezzi King’s office at Old Roma Station for a private appointment.

Topel Wines

The Topel Winery tasting room is located across from Oakville Grocery at 125 Matheson Street, just steps east of the Healdsburg Plaza. Mark and Donnis Topel make handcrafted, artisan wines in their small, solar-powered winery on Duncan Peak, just south of Hopland.
The Topel Estate, perched 1400 feet above the Sanel Valley floor and atop the fog line, is one of Mendocino County’s hidden jewels. The winery and surrounding vineyards are a testament to the perseverance and passion of the Topels — non-interventionist winemakers who believe in using indigenous yeasts and letting the wine evolve naturally.
Their philosophy extends to vineyard management, where they embrace strict organic and sustainable farming practices. The boutique winery produces, on average, only 3,500 cases per year. Cabernet Sauvignon is their flagship wine, but their portfolio includes Pinot Noir, Syrah, Gamay, Meritage, a Super Tuscan Blend and Sauvignon Blanc. Open daily 11-6, except Tuesdays.
